Manjarabad Fort
One of the unique forts in the country, Manjarabad Fort was built by Tipu Sultan and showcases the brilliance of Islamic architecture in India. It boasts of its interesting octagonal design with eight walls and attracts a number of visitors.
Another unique feature of this fort is that has the only level in contrast to the general forts which are based on multiple levels. The aerial view of this fort offers a wonderful star-shaped appearance. Built as a frontier to store ammunition, Manjarabad Fort was used as a protection for Tipu Sultan’s army against the British.
It is one of the few sightseeing places in Sakleshpur that offers an unforgettable view of the Western Ghats. One can also be overwhelmed at the sight of Arabian Sea from this fort which is located at an elevation of about 3200 feet above sea level.
